STEM Literacy is one of the four major initiatives established by the board to improve diversity, equity, inclusion, and obtaining equal access to science and technology afterschool programs and community events. To achieve this initiative we've designed and created hands on activities using the standards for Florida's school age children as our guide. We hope to improve the academic performance and interest of young children and youth in science and technology through greater exposure and access to afterschool STEM learning. We aim to strengthen what they learn in the classroom and provide additional support with homework in science, math, and technology throughout their education.
Accordingly, "If we give them a jump start today we are likely to change the educational trajectory of these kids throughout their education."
